As in Holland, this house will serve up to 7 women. We are excited to expand sober housing for women in Ottawa County to 14 program beds.

NOLA receives $10,000 grant from Community Foundation of Grand Haven!
GHCF has given NOLA a $10,000 grant to assist us in providing services to our clients during the pandemic. This grant will provide tablets to our houses so women can participate in virtual recovery meetings, expands our program staff time, and adds to our ability to connect with other recovery organizations

NOLA expands to Reentry Housing.
NOLA has taken on the reentry housing program in the city of Holland previously operated by Going Home, LLC. NOLA has leased the two houses for this program for the cost of $3,000 per month for both from Going Home. This rate is significantly below fair market value, and these properties make it possible for NOLA to serve another stigmatized and misunderstood population – people returning to society after prison.
This program is funded by MI Works Offender Success, and we can house up to 10 men in these two properties – both are duplexes. Included in the contract is providing housing to women on parole in one of our sober houses for women.

Our Third house!
Today we closed on the purchase of our third recovery house for women. We purchased a house from a nonprofit adult foster care agency that was closing. Because they believe in our program, they sold us their house for $1 ! We hope to open this as a ‘mom’s and kids’ house this summer.

MARR recertification of all three houses.
Our three houses passed MARR inspection and we were recertified with a ó, which is unusual since MARR doesn’t give stars! MARR was so impressed by our program that they decided to add a star to superior programs.
